Privacy Policy for CoachPointe

CoachPointe ("we," "us," or "our") provides an AI-powered ballet coaching application for children and teens.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your information when you use our mobile application. We designed this policy to comply with COPPA and applicable state privacy laws, including those related to biometric and health-related data.

1. Information We Collect

a. Account and Profile Information

We collect the dancer's name, age group, goals, ballet style preference, and favorite ballerinas. We also collect the parent or guardian's name and email address.

b. Movement and Pose Data (Biometric Information)

When you use the Assessment or Quick Coach features, we analyze your body movements using your device's camera.

Important: All pose detection and skeletal landmark extraction occurs entirely on your device. Raw video is never uploaded to our servers or any third party. We only process and may store derived skeletal data (joint positions and movement quality metrics) to generate feedback and training plans.

This skeletal data may constitute biometric information under certain state laws (including BIPA in Illinois and Washington's My Health My Data Act). We only collect and process this data with verifiable parental consent.

c. Voice Recordings (Optional)

If you use the optional "Log External Lesson" feature, short voice notes may be recorded and uploaded. These recordings are stored securely and are automatically deleted after 30 days.

d. Technical and Device Data

We collect device information and usage data through Firebase for analytics, crash reporting, and performance monitoring. This may include device identifiers (such as Firebase Installation IDs). We have disabled advertising features, demographics reporting, and ad personalization in Firebase.

e. Beta Waitlist Signups (Website)

If you request beta access on our website, we store the parent email you provide in our Supabase database. We use it only to send beta invites and operate the signup list, and do not share it beyond that purpose. You can have it removed at any time by emailing dancedad.studio@gmail.com.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide personalized ballet coaching and AI-generated feedback
• Analyze movement and generate training recommendations
• Manage accounts and process subscriptions
• Improve the App's performance and reliability
• Comply with legal requirements

3. Children's Privacy and Verifiable Parental Consent

CoachPointe is directed at children. In accordance with COPPA, we require verifiable parental consent before collecting personal or biometric information from children under the age of 13.

Consent is obtained through a payment authorization process using Google Play Billing or Apple In-App Purchases. Parents or legal guardians must complete this process before their child can access core features of the App.

Users aged 13 and older may create accounts independently without parental consent.

Parents may withdraw consent and delete their child's data at any time by using the "Delete Account" feature. Upon deletion, we will remove the child's profile, assessment history, and voice recordings. Some aggregated or anonymized data may be retained in a form that cannot reasonably be linked back to an individual.

4. Information Sharing

We share information only as needed to operate the App:

• Supabase: Backend database and storage.
• Firebase (Google): Analytics, crash reporting, and performance monitoring (with advertising features disabled).
• Google Gemini API: We share anonymized movement metrics with enterprise-grade AI processing services to generate personalized feedback. We do not send raw video, names, or other directly identifying information.
• ElevenLabs: Text-to-speech generation for spoken coaching feedback. We do not send names or other directly identifying information.
• RevenueCat: Subscription and entitlement management for in-app purchases, layered on top of Google Play Billing and Apple In-App Purchase.
• Payment Processors: Google Play Billing and Apple In-App Purchase handle all payments.

We do not sell personal information.

5. International Data Transfers

Some of our service providers may process data outside your country of residence. When we transfer personal data internationally, we use appropriate legal safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions where applicable.

6. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information, including encryption of data in transit and at rest, access controls, and secure authentication. While we strive to protect your data, no system is completely secure.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

• Voice recordings are automatically deleted after 30 days.
• You may delete your (or your child's) account and associated data at any time using the in-app "Delete Account" feature. We will delete or de-identify personal information within 30 days of a verified deletion request, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate, anonymized analytical purposes.

8. Your Rights

Parents and users have the right to access, correct, or delete their (or their child's) personal information. To exercise these rights, use the in-app deletion tool or contact us at the email below.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the App or by email. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
